Thornebrook Gallery opens its 4th annual showing of “The Mob” – an exhibition of original fine art by more than 30 North Florida artists – with a reception that is free and open to the public on Friday, March 21 from 6-9 p.m. “The Mob” is a unique event that showcases the broad spectrum of artistic talent in the region and celebrates the community of artists and patrons that is unique to North Florida.
“We have been in the business of art here in Gainesville for more than 32 years,” said David Arrighi, owner of Thornebrook Gallery and host of “The Mob.” “That is a testament to the quality of the artists and the dedication of the public to support art in this community. We couldn’t have done this anywhere else and ‘The Mob’ is a chance to recognize all these incredible artists and thank all the dedicated patrons together in a very special event.”
“The Mob” includes work by Linda Blondheim, Scott Hiestand, Ande Lister, Davis McGlathery, Mary Jane Volkman, Margaret Tolbert, Trish Beckham, Vivian Jendzio, Cynthia Pagel, Ellen West, Tim Malles, Jeff Ripple, Linda Pence, Lorelei Esser, Kathleen Wobie, George Ferreira, Frank Barone, James Lasley, Diana Tonnessen, Stewart Powers, Suzanna Mars, Mike McIntyre, Barbara Tench and more. Previews of a selection of work to be exhibited during “The Mob” are available on Thornebrook Gallery’s custom mobile app for iPhone and iPad.
“The Mob” will be on display in Thornebrook Gallery from March 22-29 with an opening reception on March 21 from 6-9 p.m. and a closing party on March 29 from 3-5 p.m. The opening reception, exhibit and closing party are free and open to the public.
